The wrinkle treatment industry has come a long way in the last 10 years, with the development of mainstream wrinkle creams which would have been referred to as miracles just a few short years ago. As you might expect, the cosmetic industry as a whole is worth tens of billions of dollars per year, and this figure keep growing annually.
So it would be crazy of us to think that even though we have a range of suitable wrinkle creams currently on the market, the top manufacturers will stop their research and development phases because we no longer need new products.
The reality is quite the opposite. These days, more money is being ploughed in to cosmetic product research than ever before, in an attempt to find the absolute holy grail of aging.

Anyone who actively follows developments in the cosmetic industry will know that there are a number of exciting prospects on the horizon. Recent developments such as Retinol and Collagen - which have been formulated to work hand in hand, are literally only the tip of the iceberg.
In the near future, we would expect to see products on the supermarket shelves which are able to achieve the following:
- Faster reduction in visible wrinkles.
- One solution for all skin problems.
- Total avoidance of skin degradation.
Ultimately, it is only a matter of time before the miracle skin treatment solution is found.
Skin Is Forever Evolving
Another reason why continued research and development is needed in the wrinkle cream industry is that unbeknownst to many people, skin is constantly evolving. Just like bacteria can become resistant to antibiotics, skin can quickly become resistant to topical creams and potions that are applied to it on a regular basis.
For this reason, new chemicals and substances need to be found if the next generation are to experience the same ability to halt aging dead in its tracks for a sustained period of time. The younger generation of today is increasingly concerned about aging - and hence this is just another compelling reason to continue product advancement and sophistication.
Perhaps, in another 10 years, we will look back and wonder how people got by with the "mediocre" products that we have available today. Ultimately however, we will just have to wait and see.
